Emmaus Conversation – Science and Christianity: Friends or Foes?

Emmaus Conversation is a space for people in Singapore to discuss, share, and wrestle with real questions of faith.
Our next conversation will discuss about Science and Christianity – are they Friends or Foes?

It is an unfortunate misconception—one that even Christians often hold—that Christianity is at odds with science.
Richard Dawkins, for example, argues that “religious faith is an especially potent silencer of rational calculation” because, by its very nature, “it discourages questioning.” Yet history tells a different story: far from being at odds, Christianity and science have shared a fertile relationship. This seminar will present a different perspective, highlighting the many positive influences Christianity has had on the development of modern science.
